The future is now!

Created by humans based on nature: AVALON DELUXE has launched its first collection with LAB-GROWN diamonds, set in 18 carat gold. The real diamonds from the laboratory are in no way inferior to their natural models: In their chemical and physical structure, the laboratory diamonds are absolutely identical to natural stones. Only LAB-GROWN diamonds of the highest currently manufacturable level of quality and purity are used in the jewelry from the AVALON DELUXE collection. The precious stones unfold their exciting sparkle in self-confident, modern-puristic solitaire designs.

Resource-saving high-tech: This is how laboratory diamonds are made

LAB-GROWN Diamonds are man-made masterpieces. Natural diamonds are born in volcanoes: hundreds of kilometers below the surface and under enormous pressure, they crystallized millions of years ago in the glowing interior of the earth. The extreme conditions prevailing there are simulated in the laboratory using innovative technologies. The man-made diamonds grow much faster than their natural counterparts: within a few weeks they are cultivated into rough stones that differ neither optically nor physically from natural diamonds.

While a large part of the naturally occurring diamonds cannot be used for the production of exclusive jewelry because the purity and color do not meet the requirements, stones of the highest quality are grown in the laboratory under controlled conditions. Just like rough diamonds from conventional mining, laboratory-grown diamonds are also subjected to a careful refining process, because even with laboratory-cut diamonds, only the cut brings out the full beauty and radiance of the stone.

With AVALON DELUXE, our LAB-GROWN Diamonds are used in two types of cut. The most popular cut for diamonds, the brilliant cut, ignites the full sparkle of the stones with its many facets. The increasingly popular cushion cut is also used. The large areas of this "cushion cut" particularly emphasize the noble shine of the diamond, which also gives it a luxurious look. In the self-confident solitaire designs of AVALON DELUXE LAB-GROWN, both cuts reveal the unique fire that only a real diamond shows in this depth and perfection.

Are LAB-GROWN Diamonds sustainable diamonds?

Extensive processes are necessary to obtain natural diamonds of high quality. Tons of hard, surrounding rock have to be moved to get to the precious rough diamonds, and high quality stones that meet quality standards are rare. Compared to this, the energy required to produce LAB-GROWN diamonds is lower and the process is less time-consuming. The diamonds from the laboratory therefore have a smaller CO2 footprint in relation to this and are more resource-efficient in production. The unique pieces of jewelry from the AVALON DELUXE collection stand for modern luxury of the future - and also add exciting highlights to every look. The future is now.

Frequently asked questions about moissanite diamonds

Moissanite is a rare, naturally occurring mineral, also known as silicon carbide, which was first discovered by Nobel Prize winner Dr. Henri Moissan was discovered at the site of a massive meteorite impact in Arizona. This fascinating new stone was named "moissanite" in his honor.

It was not until the late 1990s that scientists in a research laboratory in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, developed the innovative thermal growth process that produces silicon carbide crystals. These crystals are crafted into moissanite gemstones that rival any natural gemstone for fire and brilliance. These man-made gemstones are more durable than any other popular gemstones like diamond, sapphire, ruby or emerald.

Is moissanite an ideal cut stone?

Each moissanite gemstone sold by Avalon Deluxe is carefully and precisely faceted and cut to precise angles and proportions specific to moissanite. Precision is key when cutting moissanite to maximize its brilliance and amplify its incredible fire.

Moissanite is comparable to other popular gemstones such as diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald in terms of important properties such as hardness, fire and brilliance. On the Brilliance Refractive Index, moissanite is more brilliant than any other gemstone, ranging from 2.65 to 2.69 on the scale. Its fire spread is more than four times greater than any other popular gemstone. On the MOH hardness scale, moissanite is 9.25, second only to diamond. In addition, moissanite has excellent durability, allowing it to withstand daily wear and tear.

What is the property of moissanite that makes it sparkle with such extraordinary brilliance?

The most important optical property affecting the brilliance or sparkle of a gemstone is the Brilliant Refractive Index or BRI. Moissanite's BRI ranges from 2.65 to 2.69, meaning it has more brilliance than diamond (which has a BRI of 2.42) or any other popular gemstone.

A gem's fire is determined by a gemological property called dispersion. Dispersion is the prism effect that occurs when pure white light hits a non-opaque object, breaks up into spectral colors (rainbow colors) and is reflected back to the viewer. Moissanite's dispersion is 0.104, exceeding the dispersion of all gemstones including diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald.

Moissanite's fire surpasses that of all common gemstones, including diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald. Fire can be measured scientifically; With a spread of 0.104, moissanite has 2.4 times the fire of diamond. No other gemstone or jewel compares to VK Moissanite in terms of fire.

Will moissanite fade or change color over time?

No. There are no likely situations where moissanite will change color permanently. While moissanite is subject to a temporary color change when exposed to extreme heat from a jeweler's flashlight during jewelry repair, with proper laboratory technique no permanent damage occurs and the stone will return to its normal color once cooled.

Is MOISSANIT rated on the GIA diamond color scale?

Moissanite grading uses a color grading scale based on the GIA diamond color grading scale. Moissanite is now available in three qualities: colorless (DEF range), almost colorless (GHI range) and with weak hues (JK range).

Yes. Moissanite may have needle-like inclusions visible at 10x magnification. They are not visible to the naked eye and do not affect the purity of the stone. It is worth noting that almost every gem has some type of inclusion. They are unique to each gemstone and are created during the formation of the crystal structure.

Is moissanite scratch resistant?

Yes. Moissanite is durable, tough and extremely scratch and abrasion resistant. With a hardness of 9.25–9.50, moissanite is harder than all other gemstones except diamond. VK Diamonds offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty that protects against damage to the stone.

Does moissanite break prematurely?

No. Moissanite is one of the hardest known gemstones. Avalon Deluxe offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty that protects against damage to the stone.

Is moissanite heat resistant?

Yes. Moissanite exhibits higher heat resistance than many other gemstones, including diamond. Tests prove that at 2000°F - higher than the equivalent intensity of a house fire - moissanite gemstones remain intact and as brilliant as the day they were created. Because of this heat tolerance, moissanite is unlikely to be damaged during jewelry repair.

How should I care for my moissanite jewelry?

You can clean moissanite in the same way as diamonds or other fine gemstones. As with any fine piece of jewellery, an ultrasonic cleaner can be used. However, it is best to be gentle with your prized treasures. You can also clean your moissanite jewelry with a standard (acid-free) jewelry cleaner or with mild soap and water and a soft toothbrush.

Are there any chemicals I should avoid wearing my ring?

Our moissanite gemstones can be cleaned with any typical jewelry cleaner or cloth. Jewelry cleaners or clothes can be found at many drug stores or large retail stores such as Walmart, Target, etc. Additionally, moissanite gemstones can be placed in ultrasonic cleaners for cleaning, provided the jewelry setting allows for such cleaning.

Typical jewelry settings made of 14 carat gold can be cleaned with the typical jewelry cleaner for gold jewelry. Gold plated jewelry such as Platineve or silver jewelry plated with gold or platinum should be cared for according to the designer's instructions. In addition, plated jewelry should not be cleaned in a heated ultrasonic cleaner, soaked in jewelry cleaner for a long time, exposed to harsh chemicals (bleach, ammonia, etc.) ) or swimming pools or hot tubs.

Yes. Moissanite is an extremely stable material. It is durable, strong and highly resistant to scratches, abrasions, breakage and chipping. Because of its high heat tolerance, moissanite is very unlikely to be damaged during jewelry repair.

Yes. You can have your moissanite stone engraved after purchase, after all it is now part of your personal story. Please note that any engraving done on the stone after purchase will void the Limited Lifetime Warranty.
